Radar Image

NEXRAD Multiradar site multisensor type (MRMS) composite radar. It's decluttered and has the best view of rain.

NEXRAD Level 3 Composite Radar mixes angles of view. Red indicates clear air mode and picks up a lot of dust and mosture in the air. Greens and Blue indicate precipitation mode and more likely rain.

NEXRAD Base reflectivity Tilt 1 uses an angle of view from the radar site of .5 degrees elevation.
Like composite has two modes, clear air and precipitation.

NEXRAD Base reflectivity Tilt 3 uses an angle of view from the radar site of 3.1 degrees elevation.
Shows the higher cloud tops. Like composite has two modes, clear air and precipitation.

NEXRAD Base Velocity shows movement towards (green) and away (red) from the radar site.
When storms are present, tight spacing of bright green and red in a rain area that looks like a hook
(see the base reflectivity map) likely indicates rotation and is an indicator of tornadic activity.

Strom Tracks when storms are present. It's somewhat hard to see if you don't make it full screen. Still experimental.

Last One Hour MRMS Radar Loop.

Level 3 Radar Animation MRMS movie. Frames are added every 10 minutes and is reset daily at midnight.
