About This Station
The station is powered by an Ambient/Ecowitt weather station. The data is collected every 16 seconds and the site is updated every 1 minutes. This site and its data is collected using Weather Display Software. The station is comprised of an anemometer, a rain gauge and a thermo-hydro sensor, a lightning detector and an AQI seonsor situated in optimal positions for highest accuracy possible.
About This City
Blue Ridge was founded in 1886, but the area was inhabited by Cherokee Indians for centuries. White settlers began to arrive in the 1820's amoung them the Stanley family. They settled a few miles south of the where Blue Ridge would be founded at a place near the Toccoa River now called Stanley Rapids.
Colonel Mike McKinney founded Blue Ridge in 1886 when the Marietta and North Georgia Railroad reached the area. The railroad's arrival provided a market for the county's agricultural products and led to the development of Blue Ridge as a business center
